Unable to verify returning page

Seamless Access applies certain security measures to protect readers from navigating to the wrong website. The message indicates that we were unable to automatically confirm that you have been sent back to the same website where you started your Seamless Access journey.

This website (often a content provider/publisher) needs to send specific information to Seamless Access, which we validate to ensure you land on the exact same website.

There are two scenarios for which we present the message:

  • No returning website has been provided by the publisher. (This is a common issue.)

  • The list of returning websites provided by the publisher, does not contain the website you were sent from.

How do I check my security?

This error does not mean the website you will return to is unsafe:  it is alerting you that  the site can now only be confirmed by you.

To check yourself:

  • Go back to the website you started your journey on

  • Check the website address

  • Start your access journey again

  • Confirm upon landing on the content provider/publisher that the website address (domain) is the same.

Technical information

The content provider/publisher needs to provide an accurate DiscoveryResponse.
